2011

A commission from Pinewood Studios to produce 4 sea-going currachs for the new feature film Snow White and the Huntsman, due for release in 2012. See pictures of the currachs here

Benbow Films are making a new film 'Treasure Island', with Eddie Izzard as Long John Silver. Peter made 3 coracles for this which were sent out to the Carribean for the filming. See this article from Sky Tv.com, and this from Digital Spy. The film is due to air on Sky1 at Christmas time 2012.

2009

3 coracles have been commissioned by Marine Film Services Limited who specialise in marine coordination and the supply of camera boats, action boat hire, safety boats and marine prop hire as well as media diving services and on set safety to the TV and film industry.

2008

Hide skin floats, to go on an Assyrian raft, were required by award winning Wild Dream Films, for a documentary film being made for the SKY History channel.

2006

Aberdeenshire based Archaeolink commissioned the building of a 22’ currach for their Mesolithic display.

2004

First Foot Films commissioned a replica of a Beothuk canoe, for the film The New World – a drama about explorer John Smith and the clash between Native Americans and English settlers in the 17th century.

2001

Brendan Quayle Productions commissioned a currach which featured in the film ‘A Sacred Journey’.

1998

Jersey Museum Services commissioned a 12’ x 5’ paddling currach to be built. Peter constructed the craft at their Neolithic site at La Hogue Bie, sourcing all the materials himself.

Kilmartin House Trust, Argyll, commissioned Peter to lead a project to build a sea–going boat, or currach. Initially Peter designed two prototypes and constructed a 1/16th scale model. Having sourced enough material to make a 22’ x 7’ boat Peter was joined at Mayo Abbey by a team of helpers and after 5 weeks the currach was finally ready.
Named ‘Holy Sea Voyager’, the boat featured in a BBC Scotland documentary ‘Columba’s Crossing’ which aired in November 1997.
